This week I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful event catered by my dear friend Gabi and her partner from Charcoal Bay BBQ. Set in the cactus courtyard of the Spell boutique in Byron Bay, the afternoon was filled with warmth, delicious food and the quiet magic that golden hour brings.
Each platter was a piece of art — vibrant, thoughtfully plated, and glowing in the soft evening light. Linen draped the tables and candles flickered gently. The whole scene felt like something out of a slow, dreamy film.
Gabi, dressed in Spell’s latest collection, was a stunning presence amidst the cactus-lined courtyard. She even shared a few delicious nibbles with me on my way out — just before the lovely guests arrived for the launch.
I absolutely loved editing these special moments and bringing the mood and magic of the afternoon to life. These are the kinds of shoots I cherish: rooted in beauty, creativity and community.
