Spring has finally arrived, and with it came the perfect excuse to gather my girlfriends for a dreamy garden dinner party.

I set up a long table and mismatched chairs in my backyard, with bamboo posts at each end draped in fairy lights to create a magical glow as the sun set. Soft linen cloths and lace covered the tables, and I decorated each place setting with vintage plates, cutlery and wine glasses I’ve collected over the years. But the true show-stopper was the flowers. My beautiful mum, who grows the most stunning blooms on Mount Tamborine, brought down fresh arrangements to Byron Bay for the party. They were the perfect centrepieces, overflowing with colour and life. I even threaded some through the plaits in my hair to add a fairytale twist to my style.

For the feast, I made a playful feature dish: a butter candle nestled into a warm sourdough loaf. As the butter melted, we tore off pieces of bread and dipped them into the golden pool. This was served alongside a strawberry burrata salad and an elderflower garden punch. My friends completed the spread with their delicious contributions: pretty fruit skewers, a savoury grazing board with various cheeses, an orange poppyseed cake, and the dreamiest tiramisu. Together we dined, giggled, and chatted into the night with music playing softly in the background.

My heart feels so full after finally hosting the dinner party I’d been dreaming of. I can’t wait to host more dinners and crafternoons soon.

With love,
