After a lull between painting, I felt inspired to paint what the year of the horse means to me.

The painting is intended to feel like stepping into a dream. Set in a field of wildflowers beneath a full moon, a girl rides her horse towards the open horizon. Together they symbolise an invitation to embrace adventure, connect to the beauty of the natural world and bravely answer the call to follow your own path.

Putting the last touches on my painting, I could envision capturing photos of the finished canvas in a sunset meadow like the one in the painting. We were lucky enough to capture the shoot beneath the blue moon that came out in full. For a moment I felt as though I had stepped into the dreamscape itself. I wrote a little poem to capture that feeling.

Sunset hues light up the moon,Â
beautiful in her every phase.
Wildflowers wave in the wind,
fabric falling and hair flying free.
Constellations splash across a cerulean sky,
illuminating dreams and guiding us home.
The wind rustles fabric,
and whispers of open horizons.
Invites us to trust our instincts
and step into the beauty of becoming.

This original painting has now found its home. Thanks to everyone for the support, always <3
